Picture the scene - I'm sweating it out at bootcamp, swinging from a rope like Tarzan, breathless, when the dulcet voice of my trainer asks "so hey, what's your sign?" What the...! It surprised me, as usually I'm the one asking that, and she had no idea I was into Astrology. After we finished our session we got talking, and soon everybody was joining in. Strangers were now friends, with a name, and a sun sign to go with that name. That's the magic of Astrology! By pure co-incidence I had brought in a copy of my book 'Children of the Stars' as a birthday present for my other trainer, who had just become a new dad. So it was a star kissed day.
As I was walking to the car after my workout, I decided to reward myself with a Starbucks. While waiting for the coffee, my eyes were drawn to a message somebody had written on a sheet of paper in front of the Barista, which went like this...'Listen to the people all around you. Every phrase, gesture, laugh, fear or unspoken thought is a small segment of a person's life, combining to create a biography or a moving portrait...'
Isn't that the very essence of Astrology? ...listening to the people...listening for the signs...trying to understand...
Your birth chart really is a biography or moving portrait of your life. I like the word 'moving' as it suggests the living, rhythmic energy pattern within which you are constantly growing and developing in harmony with the cycles of nature. It is part of life's purpose that all things should grow - and that includes us. We need to develop as human beings, move on with our lives, roll with the punches, celebrate the joy, and always keep our face towards the sunshine.
My mission statement, as a practical, no-nonsence, non-tech Astrologer, is to heal and reveal, empowering you to do what you can, with what you have, where you are... 'what you have'... being the astrological cards you were dealt at birth. It's how you play them baby...Now that's the fun part!!
